New Horizon College of Engineering(NHCE), Bangalore is an academic Institute dedicated to excellence in teaching and research. In the evolving scenario of the world today, with increasing awareness of the ‘knowledge asset’, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) is keeps on increasing. In alignment with the Vision and Mission of NHCE, the novel technologies developed at NHCE. At the same time, it motivates the faculty, students and researchers of NHCE to initiate technology transfer using intellectual property rights like patents, industrial designs, trademarks and copyrights gained over a novel technology.
The main objectives of IPR Cell:
- To create an awareness about IPR among the faculty members and students fraternity.
- To organize various events related to IPR.
- To give training to the faculty coordinator of respective department about the procedure of patent filing.
- To increase the filing ratio every year through the awareness program.
IPR STANDING COMMITTEE (IPR SC) AND ITS ROLE
The IPR Standing Committee will be the core administrating body, which will be responsible for evolving detailed procedures to facilitate implementation of the IPR policy of NHCE. IPR SC would also arbitrate on appeals made and any clarifications sought.

Outcome of IPR Cell
The outcome of the IP Cell will be providing support & guidance to the students, research scholars, faculty members in protecting inventions and creations. The IP Cell will arrange periodic meetings of groups of students, research scholars and faculty members with IPR SC members.
